چکیده

This article transposes questions about socially engaged sound practices into a more-than-human register, turning an ear to the sounds of interspecies encounters. It takes its impetus from workshop aimed at forming ‘cross-species choir’ by artist Catherine Clover, in which participants tried sing like, with and birds London woodland. I describe how Clover’s speculative choir was informed theoretical models drawn both studies environmental humanities, as well down-to-earth, humorous sensitivity towards limitations absurdities artistic practice. Where much theory associated art experimental music sees what Ochoa Gautier has critiqued ontological suture for repairing fractured relationship between humans nature, practice offers more ambivalent and, argue, therefore generative means conceptualising role within social worlds. In particular, it uses draw attention apprehension other creatures various dynamics evasion, non-encounter undecidability our relationships world. By amplifying this alternative way understanding listening, seeks recast projects engagement through expansive terms.

Testing Supersymmetry in Ah ± Associated

In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, the masses of the charged Higgs boson (H) and the CP-odd scalar (A) are related by M H+ = M A + m W at the Born level. Because the coupling of W-A-H is fixed by gauge interaction, the Born level production rate of qq̄ → W → AH depends only on one supersymmetry parameter – the mass (M A ) of A. We illustrate how to test the mass relation between A and...

Ah receptor signaling pathways.

The aryl hydrocarbon (Ah) receptor has occupied the attention of toxicologists for over two decades. Interest arose from the early observation that this soluble protein played key roles in the adaptive metabolic response to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and in the toxic mechanism of halogenated dioxins and dibenzofurans. More recent investigations have provided a fairly clear picture of the ...

Analysis of Ah receptor-ARNT and Ah receptor-ARNT2 complexes in vitro and in cell culture.

ARNT and ARNT2 proteins are expressed in mammalian and aquatic species and exhibit a high level of amino acid identity in the basic-helix loop-helix PER/ARNT/SIM domains involved in protein interactions and DNA binding. Since the analysis of ARNT2 function at the protein level has been limited, ARNT2 function in aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR)-mediated signaling was evaluated and compared to AR...

Cloning and expression of a human Ah receptor cDNA.

In this report, we describe the cloning and expression of a cDNA encoding a human Ah receptor, a basic/helix-loop-helix protein that mediates the toxic effects of 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin. A comparison of this human cDNA with a murine homologue (Ahb1 allele) indicates that the molecular mass variation observed between the receptors found in these two species results from hypervariabi...
